Aiteraf-e-Kamal Award presented to Film star Shabnum



During the reported week Special Event Committee of Arts Council in collaboration with Film Television Journalists Association organized a colorful and memorable evening in the honor of our past legendary actress of Asia, Shabnum at open auditorium of Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi having the title "Aiteraf-e-Kamal". Saveera, Nouman, Naila and other artists presented live performance on the hit songs of Shabnum and Nadeem Baig. On this occasion Film star Shabnum said, "I'm living in Bangladesh but my heart beats here. It's not easier for me to forget the memorable moments of Pakistan which I spent here. Whenever this country needs my services for the revival of film industry you people will find out me here." Shabnum said that all of you remember that I get the name of Shabnum from this soil.
Famous Film Director Syed Noor announced the launch of "Aina 2" soon.
Chairman Special Event Committee of Arts Council, Sheikh Rashid Alam, said, "We don't have the words to thank our past legend Shabnum. She is still living in our hearts and her presence is an honor for all of us. Showbiz journalists Athar Javed Sufi, Khalid Farshori, Rashid Noor, Pervez Mazhar and Wasi Qureshi gave her memento in the honor of her past services for Pakistani Film Industry, while Film star Nadeem Baig, Mustafa Qureshi  in their address also appreciated long services of Shabnum in their address.


DHA Karachi organises "Walk a cause"


  
Defence Housing Authority organised an environmental and climate literacy event "Walk a cause" on the eve of Earth Day during the week. The walk started from DHA Moin Khan Academy and ended at Defence Authority Country and Golf Club. The event was attended by residents of DHA, and our legend sport stars Moin Khan, Sikander Bakht, Jalaluddin, Zaheer Abbas and Javed Miandad. Administrator DHA along with senior Management was also present there and talked with people during the walk. Former head of Public Relations Col. (Retd) Rafat Naqvi said on this occasion that it is an awareness activity and we are environment friendly citizens. He lauded the presence of legend cricketers and general public in the event.



Readers Club presents 'Sham-e-Shair-e-Yaraan' of Mushtaq Yousafi



Readers Club Karachi during the week in its weekly meeting presented Mushtaq Yousafi's book "Sham-e-Shair -e-Yarran". Yousfi is a legend and laureate in Urdu literature and the author of five renowned books full of satire and humor. He was born in pink city of India Jaipur, District Tonk, Rajputana or Rajhistan on 4th August, 1923 and Alhamdu-Lillah is nearing 100 years of age and touching the milestone of century. His first collection of 12 articles published in the book in the name of "Chiraghtaley" in 1961, and second book "Khakam Badahan" came in 1969. Soon after publication of these two books, he became very popular in Urdu literary circles and Urdu lovers.
His third book "Zarguzisht" came in 1976 and his forth publication "Abegum" came out in 1990, and his last and the latest book "Sham-e-Shaire-Yaran" was published in 2014. Iqbal Mangrani is an ardent fan of this great laureate presented last and the latest book "Sham-e-Shair-e-Yaran" written by Mushtaq Yousafi.


IHRC's 'Pride of Pakistan Awards'



International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) organised 'Pride of Pakistan Awards' during the week at a local hotel. In this prestigious ceremony various legends of Pakistan like Abdul Sattar Eidhi (late), Dr. Adeeb Rizvi, Dr Ishrat Hussain, Amjad Fareed Sabri, Z H Khurram, Omer Sharif, Yawar Mehdi, Naheed Raza, Sultana Siddiqui, Ustad Salmat Hussain (flute-player), Ustad Mazhar Umrao Bundo Khan, and Sameer Shaikh were given Pride of Pakistan Awards. Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Transport & Religious Affairs, Government of Sindh who was the chief guest conferred the Awards. Shahid Amin, Chairman IHRC lauded and appreciated the contribution and services of the Award Winners for Pakistan.
