Preparations to launch Azadi train under way
ISLAMABAD: Preparations to launch the Azadi train are underway at Rawalpindi Carriage Factory with more than 100 laborers are working to finalize models of different cultural heritages of Pakistan.
The train will be inaugurated on Saturday as part of 70th Anniversary celebrations of Pakistan, said a press release issued here on Monday.
The train will start its journey from Margalla Railway Station portraying the genesis of Pakistan and its bright future besides the cultural diversity of different parts of the country.
Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will arrange 36 folk artists including singers, musicians and puppeteers to accompany the Azadi Train 2017 for which funding will be provided by Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
The artists will perform at all major railway stations including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta and Karachi as per schedule of Azadi train.
It will stay at every station to provide an opportunity to the people of those areas to see the beautiful cultural and historical models displayed on the train. - NNI
