PM directs quality, timely completion of all uplift projects



LAHORE: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday directed quality control, transparency and timely completion of all projects under the 2017-18 Annual Development Programme of Punjab. 
He was chairing a high-level meeting here, attended by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Federal and provincial ministers and senior officials. 
The Prime Minister was also given a comprehensive briefing about the ongoing projects under the 2016-17 ADP.  The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of progress and said his government's focus was on welfare of the masses. 
The Prime Minister said the objective of the projects should be to provide maximum relief to the people and ensure availability of all facilities at their door steps. The meeting was attended by Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and provincial ministers Rana Sanaullah and Aisha Ghaus Pasha. 
Meanwhile in an address to workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Prime Minister said that conspiracies would not hinder the journey of Pakistan towards progress.
The premier delivered an address in downtown Lahore to party workers and said that the ruling party had earlier equipped Pakistan with atomic power and now would make her an economic power. He directed Members of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and federal ministers to ramp up Awami Raabta Mohim.
These projects were being accomplished in a transparent manner and within the minimum time and cost, he said, adding an amount of Rs112 billion was saved on three 3,600 megawatt LNG-run projects.
Expressing his wonder at the agenda of his political rivals, the prime minister said the Orange Line and Metro Bus service were aimed at facilitating the poor.
During the PML-N government, the law and order situation in the country had improved whereas the economic indicators were on the surge, he added.
Whatever they said, they acted upon with sincerity, and never indulged in politics of falsehood, the prime minister said. He informed the gathering that today, he presided over a meeting related to development projects for Punjab and Lahore.
The prime minister lauded Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif for the completion of development projects throughout the province. On the occasion, Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif said that lawmakers disapproved of energy projects that would add 3,600 Mega Watt of power to the national grid whereas it is because of his political insight that the useful projects were completed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting and reviewed the progress made in light of the recently announced Punjab budget for the year 2017-18, regarding energy projects and other development projects. Punjab CM briefed the premier over the budget and related matters. 
After 1985, they had reorganized the PML-N and its leadership and workers were always united, he said, adding the PML-N had the support of such sincere people who always kept the country's interests supreme. - NNI
